Professional Experience:
Ms. Liu received her LL.B degree from Peking University Law School in 1999; her J.D., magna cum laude (top 1%, 2 out of 438), from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2013; and her LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2014, with Certificate of Specialization in Business Law. Ms. Liu has been awarded the President’s Achievement Award from Cooley Law School, the Advanced Degree Program Scholarship from UC Berkeley Law School, and the ACCA (Associate of Corporate Counsel America) Scholarship Foundation Award, etc.
While Ms. Liu was in China, she worked with CCID of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Stellar MegaMedia Group, and Beijing Taichi Juntai Law Firm. While she was in the United States, Ms. Liu interned with Honorable Judge Christopher Yates at the 17 Circuit Business Court in Michigan and externed with Honorable Chief Justice Stephen Markman at the Michigan Supreme Court. Between 2015 and 2017, Ms. Liu worked at Dickinson Wright PLLC in Michigan, among over 400 attorneys in the 18 offices of the firm, Ms. Liu was the only attorney who was qualified to practice both in China and the United States. In early 2018,Ms. Liu joined Broad & Bright as a partner.

Ms. Liu’s practice focuses on China and U.S. Corporate Law, Cross Border Merger & Acquisition, Intellectual Property, Franchising, International Litigation and Arbitration.
Ms. Liu has represented numerous Chinese clients in both business and academic fields. For examples, Ms. Liu helped TusStar Holding to set up incubators in the United States, helped BAIC and Camel Group to set up R&D centers in the United States, helped Minth Group, Shengrui Transmission, Qingdao FengGuang Precision Machinery Co., Gusheng Biological Technology Group and other dozens of Chinese companies with their investments, M&A deals, business transactions and operations in the Unites States. Ms. Liu helped the Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Science, Xiamen University and Kingfa Technology Co., etc. with their Intellectual Property related matters. Ms. Liu also represented Chinese clients on various international litigation and arbitration matters.
As for the U.S. clients, Ms. Liu served Ford Motor, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Cottage Inn, Dawson Tire & Wheel, BWI Group, Nelson Fastener, Tarter Industries, etc.; her practice areas cover commercial litigation, transnational lending, international franchising, technology licensing and foreign direct investment, etc.
